This image was inspired by an iconic bridge that still graces the picturesque riverside of my hometown in Elkader, Iowa. Many people return to this Norman "Rockwellesque" retreat for the same reasons I chose to paint this image. It is truly a town where everyone knows your name, and is a safe place of peaceful tranquility where the keystone bridge timelessly greets and welcomes one new friend after another. The image represents timeless tranquility and yet unmovable strength. It links the past to the future of this quaint, yet progressive community. I hope you enjoy the image as much as I enjoyed creating it.
